We accept submissions on a rolling basis, with a loose theme for each issue (check for theme to be posted 1-3 issues ahead of publishing). If we receive a work we feel isn’t quite right for the upcoming issue’s theme, we will try to place it in one of the subsequent issues.
We are interested in work that demonstrates an understanding of the implications and concerns of art and literature on a micro and macro level. But we are also looking for work that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We are seeking pieces which find a balance between the two, or find interesting ways of blurring or skewing their conventions. We want pieces that are original, heartfelt, and contemporary.
We are open to all genres/forms/voices, and actively encourage submissions of writers from underrepresented and/or marginalized groups including women, people in the LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, and those who are disabled and/or chronically ill. You won’t be shushed in this library.
We publish Poetry, Short Fiction (Flash and Otherwise), Digital, Analog and Combination Art (Drawings, Prints, Photographs, Comics, Digital Artworks, ETC) Sound-poems, Music, Short Films, Video Art, Small-Scale Video Games, and Whatever Else Seems to Fit the Vibe and Voice of Abandoned Library Press. Surprise us!
Unfortunately we are not able to pay our contributors at this time, but we hope to change this in the future!
